{"id":577,"date":"2016-04-22T18:11:30","date_gmt":"2016-04-22T18:11:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bcmpayroll.com\/bcmold\/?p=577"},"modified":"2020-04-29T22:33:08","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T22:33:08","slug":"pa-department-of-revenue-issues-a-business-alert-scam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bcmpayroll.com\/bcmold\/pa-department-of-revenue-issues-a-business-alert-scam\/","title":{"rendered":"PA Department of Revenue issues a Business Alert Scam"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>March 14, 2016 &#8211; BUSINESS COMPLIANCE DIVISION\/NOTICE OF POTENTIAL COMPLIANCE VIOLATION SCAM<\/h2>\n<p>The Pennsylvania Department of State has been made aware of more post card solicitations that are being mailed to Pennsylvania businesses from a bogus company calling itself \u201cBusiness Compliance Division.\u201d The post card urges the company to \u201ccall immediately\u201d to \u201cavoid potential fees and penalties.\u201d The number (1-888-803-7922) leads the caller to speak to a representative of the alleged company, who seeks a credit card payment of $125 over the phone to procure a \u201ccertificate of existence\u201d in order to comply with \u201cCommonwealth regulations governing new enterprises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is a SCAM. Companies which are validly formed have already received a stamped copy of the public organic document filed with the Department of State, indicating the entity number, date filed and name of the current Secretary of the Commonwealth. There is no \u201ccertificate of existence\u201d required for a newly-filed company in order to maintain compliance with Pennsylvania law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March
